HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

The Scouts Canada Foundation is accepting donations for Haiti Relief. The Chief Commissioner has challenged sections to donate one week's worth of dues to Haiti Relief. Donations can be sent to the Scouts Canada Foundation 1345 Baseline Rd Ottawa K2C 0A7 make cheques to Scouts Canada Foundation -Haiti Relief. 100% of the donation will be sent to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Fund.

After nearly 2 weeks of collection $48,000 has come in and Scouters have called to say more is on the way! AND this is doubled by the Federal Government! Well done!

At the time of the Tsunami, Scouting raised $36,000.

The Purpose of the Chief Scout Association

The Chief Scout Association fosters long term relationships with Scouting through its various programs.  Its mission is to enable members to maintain their contact with Scouting and each other for their shared benefit and for the vital support and development of Scouting in Canada.

Members of the Chief Scout Association are part of an impressive group of men and women, many of whom are now in positions of responsibility and prominence in industry, government, community service, business, and education. The CSA is managed through an elected Court of Honour (COH). 

Membership Levels

The following are the levels of membership (see Newsletter No. 1 for more details)

  1. Officer- those who hold the top youth awards which includes the current Chief Scout  or Queen's Venturer awards and their predecessor awards the King's Scout and Queen's Scout.
  2. Associate -those who have participated in Scouting in Canada for at least 5 years, or    those who hold the top youth award in another national Scout Association or those who have earned the Canada Cord in Girl Guides.
  3. Honorary - those recommended to the Court of Honour and who have shown exceptional service to Scouting
  4. Officer - Youth - those who hold the Chief Scout or Queen's Venturer awards and are under the age of 27.

Please note: Your annual Membership fees ($25 CDN) begin September 1, 2009. Those 26 and under do not pay the fee.
